Warning: If the LED is plugged into the red row (5V) and black row (GND) the LED will break.

Switch the direction of the LED, keeping it connected to the blue and black rows.

Switch the direction of the resistor, keeping it connected to the red and blue rows.
STEM Connections
Switching the direction of the LED does change the outcome because it has polarity. Electric current can only flow through the LED in one direction.
Switching the direction of the resistor does not change the outcome because it does not have polarity. Electric current can flow through the resistor in either direction.

Flipping the LED will not break the LED. The LED will not turn on, if it is connected in the wrong direction.

Flipping the resistor will not change the circuit. The LED will be turned on, regardless of the direction in which the resistor is plugged.
