Test Your App - INTRO TO APP INVENTOR - AGTECH

1. Click connect at the top of your computer screen and select AI Companion.
2. Notice the QR code and 6-letter code appear on your screen.
3. Open the AI Companion app on your mobile device.
4. Type in the six-character code and press “connect with code”
5. Alternatively, press “scan QR code” to scan the code from your computer screen.
6. Once the app is open on your device, press the “Appear” button to make the image and other buttons appear.
7. Press the “Grow” button to make the image larger and the “Shrink” button to make it smaller.
8. Press the “Disappear” button to make the image and other buttons invisible.

Circulate the room to ensure all students are able to connect their mobile devices and all apps are working properly. Have students play with their apps and change the look of them using the designer page.

Mobile device won’t connect to App Inventor

1. Make sure that your device is connected to Wi-Fi to properly use the AI2 Companion app.
2. Make sure that you have entered the correct six-character code and pressed “connect with code” or scanned the QR code.
3. Sometimes it can take time for the mobile device to connect. Wait a few minutes before trying more corrective measures.
4. The program might be frozen. Close the program completely and restart again. You also may have to reset the connection on your computer by going to Connect and clicking “Reset Connection”.

Pressing the buttons and nothing is happening

1. Ensure that you have completed all the steps to control the buttons on your device. Repeat previous steps as necessary.
