WHAT A YEAR!
The Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™ program continues to deepen its impact, expand its reach and inspire the next generation of STEM innovators, as thousands more students, teachers and parents experience our signature engineering projects and Qualcomm® World of Work career exploration activities. Check out our infographic above to discover our program’s impact at the original Thinkabit Lab at Qualcomm headquarters in San Diego; Innovation Station inside the Chula Vista Public Library in Chula Vista, California; and the Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab at Virginia Tech’s Northern Virginia Center in the D.C. metro area.
This year, we announced two significant enhancements to our Thinkabit Lab activities and programming: the Thinkabit Lab Toolkit to help schools and other organizations create their own Inspired by Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab and the integration of IoT (Internet of Things) and invention into the one-day Thinkabit Lab experience. You can read more about the Toolkit below. Starting with Qualcomm World of Work and continuing into the engineering space, we introduce students and their teachers to the concept of IoT, how Qualcomm technologies are enabling it and how it’s a basis for invention.

The Innovation Station Inspired by Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab in Chula Vista, California, fosters student interest in local STEM careers, extends hands-on learning to the community at large and has been hailed by the State Librarian as a model for other libraries in California. The two Inspired by Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab environments at Lewis Middle School in San Diego are raising the school’s profile as a STEM leader and contributing to the region’s development as a center of innovation and educational excellence. The who, what, when, where, why and how details of these and other Inspired by Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab sites, including how they are customized to meet their community’s needs, are brought to life in downloadable case studies to inform and inspire you.
BUILD YOUR OWN INSPIRED BY QUALCOMM THINKABIT LAB TOOLKIT!
Following the Thinkabit Lab’s success in engaging thousands of students in STEM, Qualcomm is expanding the lab’s reach with the Thinkabit Lab Toolkit. The free Toolkit contains guidelines, materials and access to our online Teaching Resources that will enable participating school districts, libraries, universities, businesses and other organizations, regardless of their location, to create an Inspired by Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab for their communities. The content includes our signature career exploration and hands-on engineering activities to inspire the next generation of STEM innovators and to contribute to a better prepared and more diverse future workforce.
